The absolute truth. Playing a bevy of instruments and several singing styles, Prince was one of the most musically inclined people to ever grace this planet. Prince was Young Thug before there was a Young Thug. Prince was Miguel before there was Miguel. Prince was the only man I wouldn't want at the beauty salon with my wife. A great musical talent, here's my list of Prince's top 10 songs.
10. Diamonds and Pearls

My sister will question the placement of this song, but since I put her on Prince, she can't say anything. With the help from the powerful Rosie Gaines, Prince released Diamonds and Pearls in 1991 and reached number 3 on the Billboard Charts.
9. Let's Go Crazy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXJhDltzYVQ
One of my mom's favorite Prince joints, "Let's Go Crazy" is a fun, party type environment song that keeps a place bouncing. One of the many hits from the classic Purple Rain movie and album, Let's Go Crazy will keep your head nodding away.
8. The Ballad of Dorothy Parker
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxJzcpUm0pM
In all honesty, I didn't know this song until Erykah Badu bodied it in the Prince tribute at the BET Awards a couple years back. Prince tells the story of a waitress who worked the night shift. A lot of bathing takes place in this song, use your own implications.
7. How Come You Don't Call Me

Unfortunately, I can't find the link of Prince singing this song, but Alicia Keys will have to work. Prince flexes his piano muscles and his range from high to low is impeccable. Alicia doesn't really do his vocal justice, but her skills on the piano are right up to par.
6. The Beautiful Ones
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBSnHQnsXPc
"Baby, baby, baby.......... what's it gonna be?" Man, oh man. This ballad is a mood setter for couples out there. It's not vulgar, it's smooth. "Do you want me? Or do you want him? Cause I want you." Let's just make it simple huh.
5. Computer Blue
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5dhUnUEFkI
If you care anything about guitar play, then this is the song for you. Prince absolutely shreds for about 2 minutes, and if you can sit still during this jam, well you're just doing yourself a disservice.
4. Kiss
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9tEvfIsDyo
If you didn't know, you don't have to be beautiful to turn on Prince; he just needs your body, from dusk til dawn. One of the most famous songs from Prince's collection, "Kiss" is a fun loving song with a funky up beat that's bound to make you move.
3. When Doves Cry
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG3VcCAlUgE
One of the best R&B songs of all time, "When Doves Cry" is the quintessential Prince song. It has great guitar play, great vocals from Prince, and he even belches out some screams. Prince's metaphor of a dove still surprises/confuses me, but none the less, it's one of the greatest songs of all time.
Sidebar, you should check out Joey Badass's cover title When Thugs Cry. Seriously.
2. Adore
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBJqUv1a9B4
Another one of those songs that are difficult to find because of the dark ages of Prince's music, Adore has been covered and sampled through by many artists, most famously Usher's "U Got It Bad," and is phonically one of the best sounding songs I've ever heard.
1. Purple Rain
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bkvuXk2TFU
As the most famous Prince song there is, Purple Rain holds the number one spot. From the instrumentation to the vocals, Prince captures the heart of the crowd in the movie and the hearts of all listeners who hear him sing.
