From an upset in Arkansas and Austin, to the Big D proving their D (pause) this weekend was full of great football so let's highlight the 5 Best things I saw this weekend.
5. Haynes to Kamden

Rolling out to his right under diress and launching the ball 45 plus yards down the field, leading his receiver, Haynes King dropped a certified dime to Kamden Perry. Keilyn Williams rushed for over a 100 yards for the first time this season and Longview routed JT 41-13, pushing their record to 3-0.
Out here in Tatum, Keontae Burns showed everyone why he has an offer from Alabama. With the lead late in the game 28-20, on 4th and 6, Pittsburg's Burns took a reverse to the crib and stretched their lead out to what would be the final score 35-20. Tatum dropped to 0-2, losing 35-30 in the season opener to Center.
4. Shootout in Lubbock
Over 112 points, over 1300 yards of offense combined between the two teams and 0 interceptions. Talk about overkill of offense. Texas Tech defeated the Houton Cougars 63-49 in a wild one at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock. Junior QB from Houston D'Eriq King had an awesome game throwing for 431 yards and 5 Tds with 0 interceptions. What was even crazier is true freshman Alan Bowman threw for 605 yards and 5 TDS for Tech. The guy who started the year off as the 3rd stringer threw for more yards in one game than most teams in 4. Oh yeah with 0 interceptions.
3. The Playoff Spots are already locked.
TCU is a good football team. They played good defense Saturday night and Ohio State still scored 40 points. The Buckeyes have an overwhelming amount of talent and look to be easily one of the best 4 teams in the country with Clemson, Oklahoma and clear cut above everyone else Alabama.
Bama got their revenge over Ole Miss who have beaten them a couple of times over the years, dominating them 62-7.
Oklahoma had some struggles with Iowa State, but Kyler Murray is showing just why he went undefeated in high school and was considered the best Dual Threat QB coming out of high school.
Trevor Lawrence, who looks more like Sunshine from Remember the Titans, is balling for Clemson and looking to be the next True Freshman QB to lead his team to the playoffs.
2. Hook 'Em Horns
It's been a long time since Texas has beat a ranked opponent, but not only did Texas beat USC, they obliterated them. Texas was the most physical team on the field Saturday night and the Trojans had no run game at all. Texas was definitely blessed by some horrendous calls, the safety and Gustin Porter being disqualified for a "targeting," but Sam Ehlinger flexed his will with 3 touchdowns. Texas has TCU Saturday, who have owned them the past couple of years, so I'll hold my judgement til next week.
1. How Bout Them Cowboys!?
The Cowboys cooked up 6 sacks against the NY Giants overshadowing two of the brightest young stars in the game, SaQuon Barkley and Odell Beckham Jr. The simply beat and harassed Eli to a pulp. The offense started out quick with a shot to Tavon Austin, but still struggled during the middle of the game. The most impressive thing about Dallas' offense last night was Dak Prescott in the 4th. Thanks to the great mics on the field, we got the opportunity to hear and watch Prescott break down the blitzes from the Giants, and operate. The line picked the blitzes up perfectly, Dak got the ball out of his hands quick and Dallas walked the field, picking up 3rd downs, feeding Zeke and properly running the zone read. Despite how bad Dallas looks, this team has enough defense and versatility from Dak and Zeke to go 9-7 or 10-6 and make the playoffs.

First start? No problem. Just 605 yards and 5 TDS for a guy who was in high school last year. |

Caden Sterns, true freshman, flew through the line to block a field goal for a TD. |

Poor Eli. Jaylon Smith lowered the Boom on him. |
