In order to host of the Grammy's you've had to have an outstanding musical career, be able to read (lol) and be able to compel in audience over the course of 3 hours. Alicia Keys pulled off the feat last year and brought it back in 2020. Alicia is one of the most talented people to ever grace a piano and sing on a microphone. Ever since the days of "Fallin'" she has captivated the hearts of her audiences. Here's a look at her 10 best songs.
10. Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart
"Even if you were a million miles away, I could still feel you in my bed." There's a lot of pain in Keys' voice and it feels like we are all going through this break up. "Tonight I'm gonna find a way to make it without you."
9. I Need You
From the banging drum solo at the beginning, a real funky 70s vibe is created and Alicia does an excellent job of taking off on this one. The lyrics are simple yet complex at the same time. There's a lot of cause and effect metaphors where things rely on each other. The real point is that "I Need You."
8. Diary
This album was peak Alicia Keys. From the music, to her voice and to her sound, this was the best representation of Alicia Keys. Diary throughout the years has become more of a joke in how her background singer takes over the main stage, but this song is beautiful.
7. A Woman's Worth

Another great single off Keys' first album, "A Woman's Worth" was the anthem for women everywhere for awhile. Keys' basically lets everyone know that it doesn't matter about the material things if the love ain't real.
6. If I Ain't Got You

She probably had no idea this love song would turn into a makeshift gospel song, but that's just how good this one was. Alicia's second album, her best, is filled with great tracks, and this one stands out just as well.
Off of her 3rd project, "As I Am" "No One" was the lead single, and it definitely led. This song, really this album, Keys' seems to be singing a little bit louder, pushing her vocals out. For songs like "No One," and "Like You'll Never See Me Again" this strategy worked extremely well.
Looking back at it, the braids are hilarious; the sound is not. Her first lead single Fallin' blasted through speakers, and every single 13 year old girl who thought they could sing, screeched their little asses off at every middle school talent show across America. The song from the instrumentation to the vocals is outstanding, and for a lot of people, would be their #1 song.
3. Like You'll Never See Me Again
Skip straight to the last time she sings the chorus and if chill bumps don't show up then you're dead. The lyrics aren't over-complicated, Keys' just blares "Every time you hold meeeeeeee, hold me like this is the last tiiiiiimeee, every time you kiss meeeeee, kiss me like you'll never see me again." That with the bass coming in strong and the crescendo of the background. Wooooo!
2. You Don't Know My Name
My pops is the reason I ended up loving this song. He use to go around the house singing the bass line and it's now the only thing I hear when I listen to it. Alicia deserves all the credit in the world for this originality. The video is a go, and the fact that she calls the man on the phone with the video in mind when she recorded the song is amazing as well. This is really a 9.8/10.
2009-10 was the start to Drake season, and one of his most slept on works is his efforts on "Un-Thinkable."
Don't get me wrong, Alicia is the star of the show. But the sound sounds like it should've been apart of So Far Gone. Drake does a great job of background vocals, and the two tagged team the lyrics, making them really relate-able.
