At TCU Merrill stepped on the field as a freshman in 2003 and rushed for 1,107 yards and 4 touchdowns. As a sophomore he rushed for 753 yards and 6 touchdowns and as a junior he rushed for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns. For a career that's 2,771 and 20 rushing touchdowns in 3 seasons for Merrill.

Anderson won state at George Ranch in 2015 as a senior after a dominate 2,274 yard and 30 touchdown season. His 246 yards performance in the state game won him MVP. Anderson's junior season he went for 1,861 and 14 touchdowns and as a sophomore he rushed for 816 yards and 12 touchdowns. For a career that's 4,951 and 56 touchdowns on the ground and another 609 yards and 5 touchdowns through the air.

A 3 Star prospect, Hubert broke LT's city record in Waco for rushing yards in a season. That senior year he rushed for 2,853 and 41 touchdowns. That year Midway lost in the regional final to my Longview squad in thrilling fashion. As a junior, Hubert went for 1,747 yards and 22 touchdowns.
After a redshirt year, Hubert entered the field in 2010. He was a reserve running back and who barely recorded stats. As a sophomore, Hubert started 12 of 13 games and rushed for 970 yards and 3 touchdowns. His junior year Herbert went for 947 yards, but for 15 touchdowns. As a senior he went over the 1,000 yard mark, going for 1,048 and 10 touchdowns. For a career that's 2,993 yards and 28 touchdowns with 55 catches for 415 yards and 3 toucdhowns.

A 3 star from Pearland High School, Whittaker rushed for 1,335 yards and 9 touchdowns as a sophomore, and 1,608 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior. Whittaker exploded as a senior and rushed for 2,774 yards and 24 touchdowns. When Fozzy left Pearland he was the 6th best rusher in 5A history with 5,717 and 51 touchdowns.
Whittaker redshirted his first year at Texas and got on the field in 2008. That year he rushed for 284 yards on 64 carries. As a sophomore, Whittaker rushed for 212 yards on 53 carries and 4 touchdowns. As a junior, Fozzy ran for 351 yards and 2 touchdowns on 80 carries and as a senior 386 yards on 6 touchdowns and scoring 2 kickoff returns for touchdowns.
Whittaker got his chance in the pros mainly with Carolina. As a return specialist, Whittaker had 1,494 career kick off return yards and 615 rushing yards.
5 Star Lache Seastrunk was a bigger than life personality in the class of 2010. His smile was just as famous as his highlight reels. Seastrunk left Temple as its all-time leader in rushing yards and total touchdowns with 4,217 yards and 52 touchdowns. As a senior he rushed for 1,174 yards and 11 touchdowns. Seastrunk's junior stat line is 1,541 yards and 14 touchdowns after his best year as a sophomore, where he ran for 1,532 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Seastrunk went to Oregon out of Temple, but left after one season and redshirting. Lache arrived back in Texas and saw the field in 2012 for Baylor. He rushed for 1,012 yards and 7 touchdowns his sophomore season. As a junior, Seastrunk was All-Big 12 after rushing for 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Seastrunk left school early and was drafted in the 6th round by the Redskins. After stops with Washington, Tennessee, Dallas, and the New York Jets, Seastrunk never recorded a stat in the league.

As an All-American, 3 Time First Team All-State, Johnathan Gray maybe the best high school running back in Texas History. Twice named Mr. Football USA, Gray holds the national record for touchdowns in a career with 205. As a freshman rushed for 969 yards and 15 touchdowns in 12 games. He came back his sophomore year with an astounding 2,813 yards and 50 touchdowns while catching 30 passes for 479 yards and 9 touchdowns. As a junior, Gray rushed for 3,221 yards and 59 touchdowns while catching 15 passes for 233 yards and 2 touchdowns. As a senior Gray brought all records down as he rushed for 3,888 yards and 65 touchdowns while catching the ball 26 times for 517 yards and 5 touchdowns. His 10,908 rushing yards are phenomenal.
Gray showed up to Texas with a lot of expectations, and unfortunately, did not live up to them. For a career he rushed for 2,610 yards and 17 touchdowns. His best season came as a sophomore as he went for 780 yards and 4 touchdowns.

A 3 Star prospect from DeSoto High, Murphy was a solid back for Claude Mathis. As a junior, he ran for 1,274 yards and 17 scored while catching it 41 times for 524 yards and 6 touchdowns. As a senior, Murphy ran for 1,410 yards and 19 touchdowns and caught 35 passes for 653 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Murphy was instant impact returning kicks for the Tigers. In 2010 he had 475 return yards while rushing for 2 touchdowns. After an injury and redshirt, In 2012, Murphy rushed for 251 yards and a score 458 return yards and a score. As a junior he rushed for 601 yards, and 924 yards as a senior, giving him 1,957 rushing yards.
After returning 3 touchdowns on kick return, the Saints drafted Murphy in the 7th round of the 2015 draft. He returned a punt for a touchdown that year. After the 2016 season he was signed by the Bills and even got carries in his last season, rushing for 250 yards on 52 carries for Buffalo.

A 3 star prospect leaving Ellison High, David Cobb rushed for 2,946 yards and 35 touchdowns in high school. As a senior Cobb finished just under 1400 yards for 17 touchdowns, and as a junior rushed for 1,209 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Cobb played sparingly his first 2 seasons at Minnesota, but as a junior exploded on the scene. Cobb rushed for 1,202 yards and 7 touchdowns his first season as a starter. He garnered NFL attention after a 1,629 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior.
Cobb was drafted in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans. During his one season, Cobb rushed for 146 yards and 1 touchdown.

A 3 star from Hurst, Texas, Farrow came out of high school relatively unknown. For a career he rushed for 3,239 yards after 622 as a junior, 1,233 as a senior and 1,384 yards as a sophomore.
Farrow redshirted his first year at UH, before rushing for 466 yards and 2 scores as a freshman. His sophomore year he came back with 514 yards and 6 scores, leading into big junior and senior seasons. As a junior, Farrow rushed for 1,042 yards and 14 scores and 958 yards and 12 scores as a senior.
Farrow went undrafted but saw time with the San Diego Chargers in 2016, rushing for 192 yards in 2 games on 60 touches for the Chargers.

A 5 star recruit out of Royal High and Brookshire, Texas, Brandon Williams was as explosive as they come. As a junior, Williams ran for 1,815 yards and 14 touchdowns while catching 38 passes for 512 yards and 4 touchdowns. He came back his senior year even stronger: 2,438 rushing yards, 33 touchdowns and 144 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.
The 5 star showed up to Norman and was disappointed with where he stood on the depth chart. After rushing for just 219 yards and no touchdowns, Williams went South to College Station. The next 2 years were more of the same for him. As a sophomore he rushed for 269 yards and as a junior 379. That spring Williams changed positions to cornerback and knocked away 7 passes.
In the 2016 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals picked Williams in the 3rd round to play corner. Williams stayed with the Cardinals for 3 years and in his entire career he defended 5 passes and had 192 kickoff return yards.

4 Star prospect out of The Woodlands, Lasco rushed for 3,281 yards on 444 carries for 43 touchdowns. His biggest season came in 2009: 216 carries for 1,520 yards and 17 touchdowns. As a senior in 8 games, Lasco for 868 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Lasco reshirted upon arrive to Berkeley, but saw the field as a redshirt freshman. He rushed for 109 yards and as a sophomore, 317. Lasco was the starter as a junior and produced a big season. He rushed for 1,115 yards and 12 scores, before an injury ridden senior year limited him to 331 yards and 3 scores.
The New Orleans Saints drafted Lasco in the 7th round. In his 2 seasons, Lasco rushed the ball 11 times for 32 yards and 1 score.
A 4 Star prospect from Katy High, Anderson left Katy with 5,493 career rushing yards on 603 carries. As a freshman, Anderson tipped over a 1,000 yards rushing for 1,167 yards and 14 touchdowns. As a sophomore, Anderson had 926 yards and 16 touchdowns. As the starter his junior season, Anderson ran for 1,967 yards and 34 touchdowns, and as a senior he rushed 251 times for 2,485 yards and 36 touchdowns taking Katy all the way to state.
When Anderson arrived to Norman he didn't quite live up to the expectations. His first season he broke his leg, his second season he redshirted due to injury in camp. As a redshirt sophomore Anderson rushed for 1,161 yards and 13 touchdowns, before getting hurt his junior year, playing in only 3 games.
Despite the injuries, the Bengals selected Anderson in the 6th round of the 2019 Draft. Anderson received 4 points for his NFL career, but that's benefit of the doubt. Anderson missed the 2019 season to, guess what, injury.
Goodson was a top 4 star prospect out of Klein Collins in 2005. He ran for 1,152 yards on 101 carries and 14 touchdowns as a junior. As a senior, Goodson ran for 99 carries and 973 yards. He was an Army All-American.
Goodson arrived at TAMU, and played immediately. As a true freshman he went for 847 yards and 4 touchdowns, 711 yards and 4 touchdowns as a sophomore and 406 yards as a junior. For a career, Goodson had 464 catches and carries for 2,824 total yards and 20 touchdowns.
Goodson was taken in the 4th round by the Carolina Panthers. During his 3 years with Carolina, Goodson rushed and caught passes for 830 total yards and 3 touchdowns. His one year with the Raiders Goodson had 416 total yards and 1 touchdown, and ended his career with the Jets where his impact was minimal.

A 3 star from Texas City, D'Onta Foreman rushed for 4,382 yards and 61 touchdowns in high school. As a freshman he had 77 carries for 391 yards and 2 touchdowns. As a sophomore he had 138 carries for 816 yards and 10 touchdowns. His junior season was his first going over a 1,000, rushing 112 times for 1,073 yards and 18 touchdowns. As a senior he went for 202 carries, 2,102 yards and 31 touchdowns.
As impressive as his resume came, Foreman played the shadow to his twin brother. That lasted until 2016, when Foreman made the most out of his first year to start at Texas. Foreman went bonkers for 2,028 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns in 2015.
After winning the Doak Walker Award, the Houston Texans selected Foreman in the 3rd round of the 2017 Draft. Foreman rushed for 327 yards and 2 touchdowns his rookie year, but after just -1 yards in his second season, Foreman has yet to play again.

Ranked a 2 star out of high school, Ivory was outshone by teammate Vondrell McGee and played fullback. Despite his lack of big stats, Ivory's talent was noticed and he received a scholarship to play at Washington State. Those 3 years with the Cougars, Ivory only rushed for 594 yards before being dismissed by the team. He went on to Tiffin, and was injury riddled there. In his one season he had 223 yards.
After a successful Pro Day, Ivory was given a chance by the New Orleans Saints. That year Ivory went on to rush for 716 yards and 5 touchdowns. He spent two more seasons in NOLA as the back up before moving on to the New York Jets. In 2015, his last season with the Jets, Ivory capped a 3 year starting spill rushing for 1,070 yards and 7 touchdowns, making the Pro Bowl. He signed a new contract with the Jaguars and spent 2 years there before playing his last football for the Bills in 2018. Ivory for a career has rushed 1,227 times for 5,237 yards and 29 touchdowns. He has caught the ball 107 times for 948 yards and 3 touchdowns.

A 4 star back from Allen, Texas, Jonathon Williams rushed for 3,510 yards in high school. As a sophomore he was a reserve and rushed for 263 yards and 4 scores, but exploded as a junior. 2,078 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns made schools from all over call for Williams. As a senior he produced 1,169 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
Williams went to Arkansas and was productive. As a sophomore he rushed for 900 yards and 4 touchdowns before having his best season as a junior. His 1,190 yards and 12 touchdowns seemed promising before injuring his self in 2015.
Williams was selected in the 5th round of the 2016 Draft and played in 11 games for Buffalo as a rookie. His best year in the NFL was this past year in 2019. He rushed for 235 yards and a touchdown with the Colts.

3 Star prospect from Houston Westbury, Sims biggest season came as a junior where he rushed for 1,018 yards and 17 touchdowns and 37 catches for 425 yards and 2 touchdowns.
AT UH, Sims had 3 productive years. As a freshman he had 1,457 total yards and 10 total touchdowns. As a sophomore he had 1,396 total yards and 13 touchdowns and as a junior 1,224 total yards and 14 touchdowns. Itching for more, Sims graduated early and transferred to West Virginia to play his last season in the Big 12. He totaled 1,496 yards and 14 touchdowns with the Mountaineers.
Drafted in the 2014 Draft in the 3rd round, Sims spent 4 years with the Buccaneers. During that time, he rushed for 958 yards and 2 touchdowns, but caught 129 passes for 1,190 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Trey Williams was Mighty Mouse and Superman all rolled into one in high school. Trey finished with 935 carries for 8,110 yards and 86 touchdowns in his career. This mini-train started his sophomore year when Williams went for 1,930 yards and 18 touchdowns. As a junior, 2,290 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns. His senior year was monstrous: 447 carries, 3,890 yards, 48 touchdowns, while returning 2 kickoffs and a punt for a touchdown as well.
The 5 star showed at College Station just in time for the Manziel show and took back seat to that while splitting time. Through his 3 year career, Williams rushed for 1,343 yards and 18 touchdowns. Williams went undrafted and spent time with several teams before landing with the Colts. For his career he has 2 carries for 12 yards.

A 5 star prospect from Cy Ranch, Ford rushed for 4,079 yards and 46 touchdowns during his prep career. A breakout sophomore year saw Ford run for 1,296 yards and 10 touchdowns. His junior year he went for 915 yards and 12 touchdowns, and as a senior he went for 1,868 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Ford went to Norman, Oklahoma and played in 13 games. He rushed for 526 yards and 9 touchdowns during his time and transferred to Texas A&M. At A&M, Ford never put up a 1,000 yards season, but had 669 as a junior, and 548 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior.
In 2018, Ford was signed by the Buffalo Bills as a free agent. He played in 2 games, started 1, and rushed 21 times for 79 yards. Who knows if that's the end for Ford, or will he get another opportunity?

A 3 year starter and 4 star prospect at Jersey Village, Selvin Young received scholarship offers from Colorado and Oklahoma before choosing Texas.
At Texas, Young played immediately, backing up Cedric Benson in 2002. He rushed for 408 yards and 5 touchdowns as a freshman. As as sophomore his production dipped as Benson received more work. The National Championship year, Young shared the backfield with Ramonce Taylor and Jamaal Charles and rushed 96 times for 461 yards and 8 touchdowns, and his senior year Young had 591 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Young's subtle production in college land him an opportunity with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent, and he made the most of it. His rookie year, Young ran for 729 yards in 15 games and 303 yards in 8 games in 2008. Injuries derailed his career, but nonetheless Young finished with 1,032 yards in the NFL.

A 3 star from Plano High, Rex Burkhead was a workhorse in 2007 and 2008. As a junior he went off for 1,768 yards and 29 touchdowns, while also catching 47 passes, leading Plano all the way to the State Semis. As a senior he came back and rushed for 1,762 yards and 28 touchdowns and 42 catches for 594 yards and 5 touchdowns in 12 games.
Burkhead played immediately at Nebraska, rushing for 346 yards and 3 touchdowns as a true freshman. He hovered a 1,000 with 951 yards as a sophomore and broke the mark with 1,357 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior. Due to injury he was limited to 675 yards and 5 touchdowns as a senior. For a career, Burkhead had a combined 695 touches for 3,836 yards and 35 touchdowns.
Drafted in the 6th round by the Bengals, Burkhead didn't make an impact until 2016. He rushed for 344 yards and 2 touchdowns before being released before his 5th season. He signed with the Patriots and has been a steady producer. During his 3 seasons, Burkhead has 1,416 total yards and 12 touchdowns. For a career, he has 378 touches for 2,079 yards and 16 touchdowns.

A 5 Star prospect out of San Antonio, Malcolm Brown was an animal in high school. At 5'11 215, he ran with a physical style that reminded you of another 28 from the state of Texas. As a sophomore he ran for 1,352 yards and 17 touchdowns in 7 games. As a junior, he knocked Johnny Manziel out of the playoffs and rushed for 2,200 yards and 33 touchdowns. His senior year he led his team to a State Championship after rushing for 2,637 yards and 33 touchdowns.
At Texas, Brown didn't live up to the 5 star billing, but was productive nonetheless. In his 4 years, Brown ran for 2,678 yards and 24 touchdowns, his biggest seasons being his freshman and junior. As a freshman he rushed for 742 yards and 5 touchdowns and as a junior, 904 yards and 9 touchdowns.
An undrafted free agent, Brown signed with the Rams and has been their 3rd back ever since. He has produced at least 200 yards and each of the last 3 seasons, and for a career has 934 total yards from scrimmage.

Perine was a 4 star coming out of Hendrickson. His best season was his junior year, rushing for 1,993 yards and 16 touchdowns. As a senior, Perine rushed for 1,492 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Perine left for Oklahoma and was outstanding in his 3 seasons. As a true freshman, Perine ran for 1,713 yards and 21 touchdowns, finishing as a 2nd Team All-American. His sophomore and junior seasons, Perine rushed for 1,349 yards and 1,060 yards for a combined 25 touchdowns. Perine's 4,122 rushing yards stand number 1 All-Time at OU, despite playing in just 3 seasons.
Perine was drafted in the 4th round in 2017 by the Washington Redksins. He rushed for 635 yards in 21 games for the Redskins, before being moved around to the Bengals and Dolphins. It's not for certain if his career if over, but things aren't looking up for Perine.

A 4 star from DeSoto High, Gray had a big junior and senior season for the Eagles. As a junior, Gray ran for 1,482 and 31 touchdowns while catching 31 passes for 436 yards and 2 touchdowns. As a senior, Gray rushed for 1,975 yards and 28 touchdowns.
Gray played as a freshman and sophomore for the Aggies, and rushed for 1,120 yards in his first two seasons with 6 touchdowns. As a junior he took over as the starter and rushed for 1,133 yards and 5 touchdowns, and as a senior had 1,045 yards for 12 touchdowns. Gray had 4,074 scrimmage yards for 36 total touchdowns.
Drafted in the 6th round by the Kansas City Chiefs, Gray had a disappointing NFL career. In 3 seasons he rushed for just 99 yards and 1 touchdown on 117 downs played.

A 5 Star prospect from Westbrook, Michael was a 3 year starter who rushed for 4,423 yards during his prep career. As a sophomore he exploded on the scene with 1,300 yards and 21 touchdowns, as a junior, 1,171 yards and 28 touchdowns, and 1,412 yards and 25 scores as a senior.
Michael went on to A&M and contributed immediately, rushing for 844 yards and 10 touchdowns. His next best season came as a junior. He rushed for 899 yards and 8 scores. He left A&M with 3,114 scrimmage yards and 35 touchdowns.
He was drafted in the 2nd round by the Seattle Seahawks. He spent a couple of seasons there, bounced to Dallas and Green Bay, but never truly made a huge impact. His best season was 2016, when he went back to Seattle after starting the year in Green Bay. He had 469 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns with the Seahawks. For a career, Michael has 1,089 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns.

Ronald Jones was a superstar at McKinney North, rushing for over 2,000 yards in his 2 seasons as a full time starter. As a sophomore, Jones ran for 520 yards and 9 touchdowns. As a junior, on 244 carries, Jones rushed for 2,406 yards and 39 touchdowns and as a senior, on 240 carries, Jones rushed for 2,009 yards for 28 touchdowns.
Jones arrived at USC and contributed immediately, going for 1,026 total yards as a true freshman. As a sophomore, Jones rushed for 1,082 yards and 12 touchdowns, before ending his career with 1,550 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns.

His biggest seasons were his junior and senior year when he took over as the starter full time. Those years he had 1,431, and 1,877 total yards.
Those 2 monstrous years led him to being drafted in 2016 by the now, Las Vegas Raiders. In his 4 seasons with the team, Washington has 1,735 total scrimmage yards, and 8 toucdowns: 1,122 of them rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns.

At Stanford, Taylor saw the field immediately. As a freshman he rushed for 303 yards and 4 touchdowns. Taylor's best season at Stanford came as a senior, rushing fro 1,530 yards and 13 touchdowns, leaving Stanford with 5,078 yards from scrimmage and 45 total touchdowns.

In 2008, Rodgers announced his self to the PAC-12 by rushing for 1,253 yards and scoring 11 touchdowns. As a sophomore he rushed for 1,440 yards and 21 touchdowns and as a junior, 1,184 yards and 14 touchdowns. For a career, Rodgers had 4,933 total yards from scrimmage and 51 touchdowns.
As an NFL player, Rodgers has 2,067 rushing yards under his belt, and 3,657 total yards from scrimmage. His best season was in 2012 with Atlanta, when he had 764 yards from scrimmage. Oh, all of this at 5'7 and less than 200 pounds.

Charles's story is one of persistence and open mindedness after being discovered in the Special Olympics in school. Before the Special Olympics Charles didn't play sports. As a junior, he ran for 2,051 yards and 25 touchdowns, being named first team All-State. As a senior Charles, came back with another 2,056 yards and 25 touchdowns being named a prep All-American and being named All-State again.
At Texas, Charles was impact as soon as he arrived, helping Texas win a National Championship in the 05 season. He rushed for 878 yards and 11 touchdowns that Freshman season. As a sophomore he rushed for 831 yards and 7 scores before exploding as a junior.
His 1,619 yards and 18 touchdowns was enough for him to make the leap to the NFL. Drafted in the 3rd round by the Kansas City Chiefs, Charles was amazing. For a career, Charles rushed for 7,563 yards and 44 touchdowns. His best season came in 2013. He had 1,980 total yards from scrimmage and 19 touchdowns. Charles was named top 100 in the NFL 5 times by his peers, and made the Pro Bowl 4 times.

There have been a lot of guys on this list who were 5 stars coming out of high school, but few players lived up to the billing the way Cedric Benson did. His 8,423 rushing yards were the most in 5A history when he moved on. Benson won 3 State Championships in a row at Midland Lee, rushing for 15 touchdowns in those 3 State games. His junior year, Benson ran for over 3,500 yards and 51 touchdowns and was the first high school player to ever be on the cover of Dave Campbell's Texass Football Magazine.
The greatness followed him to Texas were Benson put up over 6,000 yards from scrimmage. His best year was his senior year. Benson led the Longhorns to a Rose Bowl win over Michigan after rushing for 1,834 yards his senior season for 19 touchdowns. For a career Benson ran for 5,540 yards, clipping over a 1,000 each year on campus.
Drafted 4th overall by the Chicago Bears, Benson's career was shaky at first. Fighting injuries, Benson never rushed over a 1,000 yard season in his 3 years with the Bears. Benson had his breakout season with the Bengals in 2009. He rushed for 1,251 yards and 6 touchdowns. He followed that season with another 2 1,000 yard seasons, before ending his career as a back up with the Green Bay Packers. Benson's total numbers in the NFL are 6,017 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns with 120 catches for 833 yards and 1 touchdown.

For a career, Creer rushed for 6,204 yards for a total of 60 touchdowns.
Creer arrived at Tennessee and got play time immediately. As a true freshman he rushed for 214 times on 36 carries for a touchdown. As a sophomore Creer rushed for 388 yards for 4 touchdowns. Unhappy with his production, Creer transferred to LA. Tech and got on the field in 2010. His first season he rushed for 1,181 yards and 10 touchdowns. His senior year he followed with 838 yards for 9 touchdowns. For a career, he rushed 519 times for 2,621 for 24 touchdowns.
Creer went undrafted and went to camp with the Titans, but never recorded a stat in the NFL.

For a career that's 4,951 and 56 touchdowns on the ground and another 609 yards and 5 touchdowns through the air.
44. John Hubert

A 3 Star prospect, Hubert broke LT's city record in Waco for rushing yards in a season. That senior year he rushed for 2,853 and 41 touchdowns. That year Midway lost in the regional final to my Longview squad in thrilling fashion. As a junior, Hubert went for 1,747 yards and 22 touchdowns.
After a redshirt year, Hubert entered the field in 2010. He was a reserve running back and who barely recorded stats. As a sophomore, Hubert started 12 of 13 games and rushed for 970 yards and 3 touchdowns. His junior year Herbert went for 947 yards, but for 15 touchdowns. As a senior he went over the 1,000 yard mark, going for 1,048 and 10 touchdowns. For a career that's 2,993 yards and 28 touchdowns with 55 catches for 415 yards and 3 toucdhowns.
43. Fozzy Whittaker

Whittaker exploded as a senior and rushed for 2,774 yards and 24 touchdowns. When Fozzy left Pearland he was the 6th best rusher in 5A history with 5,717 and 51 touchdowns.
Whittaker redshirted his first year at Texas and got on the field in 2008. That year he rushed for 284 yards on 64 carries. As a sophomore, Whittaker rushed for 212 yards on 53 carries and 4 touchdowns. As a junior, Fozzy ran for 351 yards and 2 touchdowns on 80 carries and as a senior 386 yards on 6 touchdowns and scoring 2 kickoff returns for touchdowns.
Whittaker got his chance in the pros mainly with Carolina. As a return specialist, Whittaker had 1,494 career kick off return yards and 615 rushing yards.
42. Lache Seastrunk
5 Star Lache Seastrunk was a bigger than life personality in the class of 2010. His smile was just as famous as his highlight reels. Seastrunk left Temple as its all-time leader in rushing yards and total touchdowns with 4,217 yards and 52 touchdowns. As a senior he rushed for 1,174 yards and 11 touchdowns. Seastrunk's junior stat line is 1,541 yards and 14 touchdowns after his best year as a sophomore, where he ran for 1,532 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Seastrunk went to Oregon out of Temple, but left after one season and redshirting. Lache arrived back in Texas and saw the field in 2012 for Baylor. He rushed for 1,012 yards and 7 touchdowns his sophomore season. As a junior, Seastrunk was All-Big 12 after rushing for 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Seastrunk left school early and was drafted in the 6th round by the Redskins. After stops with Washington, Tennessee, Dallas, and the New York Jets, Seastrunk never recorded a stat in the league.
41. Johnathan Gray

As an All-American, 3 Time First Team All-State, Johnathan Gray maybe the best high school running back in Texas History. Twice named Mr. Football USA, Gray holds the national record for touchdowns in a career with 205. As a freshman rushed for 969 yards and 15 touchdowns in 12 games. He came back his sophomore year with an astounding 2,813 yards and 50 touchdowns while catching 30 passes for 479 yards and 9 touchdowns. As a junior, Gray rushed for 3,221 yards and 59 touchdowns while catching 15 passes for 233 yards and 2 touchdowns. As a senior Gray brought all records down as he rushed for 3,888 yards and 65 touchdowns while catching the ball 26 times for 517 yards and 5 touchdowns. His 10,908 rushing yards are phenomenal.
Gray showed up to Texas with a lot of expectations, and unfortunately, did not live up to them. For a career he rushed for 2,610 yards and 17 touchdowns. His best season came as a sophomore as he went for 780 yards and 4 touchdowns.

A 3 Star prospect from DeSoto High, Murphy was a solid back for Claude Mathis. As a junior, he ran for 1,274 yards and 17 scored while catching it 41 times for 524 yards and 6 touchdowns. As a senior, Murphy ran for 1,410 yards and 19 touchdowns and caught 35 passes for 653 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Murphy was instant impact returning kicks for the Tigers. In 2010 he had 475 return yards while rushing for 2 touchdowns. After an injury and redshirt, In 2012, Murphy rushed for 251 yards and a score 458 return yards and a score. As a junior he rushed for 601 yards, and 924 yards as a senior, giving him 1,957 rushing yards.
After returning 3 touchdowns on kick return, the Saints drafted Murphy in the 7th round of the 2015 draft. He returned a punt for a touchdown that year. After the 2016 season he was signed by the Bills and even got carries in his last season, rushing for 250 yards on 52 carries for Buffalo.

Cobb was drafted in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans. During his one season, Cobb rushed for 146 yards and 1 touchdown.

Farrow went undrafted but saw time with the San Diego Chargers in 2016, rushing for 192 yards in 2 games on 60 touches for the Chargers.

He came back his senior year even stronger: 2,438 rushing yards, 33 touchdowns and 144 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.
The 5 star showed up to Norman and was disappointed with where he stood on the depth chart. After rushing for just 219 yards and no touchdowns, Williams went South to College Station. The next 2 years were more of the same for him. As a sophomore he rushed for 269 yards and as a junior 379. That spring Williams changed positions to cornerback and knocked away 7 passes.
In the 2016 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals picked Williams in the 3rd round to play corner. Williams stayed with the Cardinals for 3 years and in his entire career he defended 5 passes and had 192 kickoff return yards.

Lasco reshirted upon arrive to Berkeley, but saw the field as a redshirt freshman. He rushed for 109 yards and as a sophomore, 317. Lasco was the starter as a junior and produced a big season. He rushed for 1,115 yards and 12 scores, before an injury ridden senior year limited him to 331 yards and 3 scores.
The New Orleans Saints drafted Lasco in the 7th round. In his 2 seasons, Lasco rushed the ball 11 times for 32 yards and 1 score.

A 4 star prospect, Knile Davis barely played high school ball. As a junior he rushed for 425 yards and 4 touchdowns before season ending injury, and as a senior, Davis broke his ankle after only rushing for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The people were anxious in Arkansas to see what they were getting in Davis. In 2010, he didn't disappoint. Davis best year in college he went for 1,322 yards and 13 touchdowns in the SEC. In 2011, Davis missed the whole season to a broken ankle, and in 2012 only rushed for 377 yards in 10 games.

As the starter his junior season, Anderson ran for 1,967 yards and 34 touchdowns, and as a senior he rushed 251 times for 2,485 yards and 36 touchdowns taking Katy all the way to state.
When Anderson arrived to Norman he didn't quite live up to the expectations. His first season he broke his leg, his second season he redshirted due to injury in camp. As a redshirt sophomore Anderson rushed for 1,161 yards and 13 touchdowns, before getting hurt his junior year, playing in only 3 games.
Despite the injuries, the Bengals selected Anderson in the 6th round of the 2019 Draft. Anderson received 4 points for his NFL career, but that's benefit of the doubt. Anderson missed the 2019 season to, guess what, injury.

Carson played his freshman year at Oregon going for 254 yards and a touchdown. After that season he transferred closer to home to College Station. In his 3 seasons with the Aggies, Carson had 2,075 yards and 19 touchdowns, his biggest season being his senior year: 271 touches, 1,348 yards and 8 touchdowns.
After persistent work, Carson found his way in the NFL with the Bengals in 2018. He played for the Packers and Lions as well and has mainly been on special teams, but he does have 48 rushing yards for his career.

Goodson was taken in the 4th round by the Carolina Panthers. During his 3 years with Carolina, Goodson rushed and caught passes for 830 total yards and 3 touchdowns. His one year with the Raiders Goodson had 416 total yards and 1 touchdown, and ended his career with the Jets where his impact was minimal.

As impressive as his resume came, Foreman played the shadow to his twin brother. That lasted until 2016, when Foreman made the most out of his first year to start at Texas. Foreman went bonkers for 2,028 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns in 2015.
After winning the Doak Walker Award, the Houston Texans selected Foreman in the 3rd round of the 2017 Draft. Foreman rushed for 327 yards and 2 touchdowns his rookie year, but after just -1 yards in his second season, Foreman has yet to play again.

After a successful Pro Day, Ivory was given a chance by the New Orleans Saints. That year Ivory went on to rush for 716 yards and 5 touchdowns. He spent two more seasons in NOLA as the back up before moving on to the New York Jets. In 2015, his last season with the Jets, Ivory capped a 3 year starting spill rushing for 1,070 yards and 7 touchdowns, making the Pro Bowl. He signed a new contract with the Jaguars and spent 2 years there before playing his last football for the Bills in 2018. Ivory for a career has rushed 1,227 times for 5,237 yards and 29 touchdowns. He has caught the ball 107 times for 948 yards and 3 touchdowns.

His rookie year, Young ran for 729 yards in 15 games and 303 yards in 8 games in 2008. Injuries derailed his career, but nonetheless Young finished with 1,032 yards in the NFL.

For a career he rushed for 2,193 yards and 49 touchdowns, while adding 26 catches for 271 yards and a touchdown.

At Texas, Brown didn't live up to the 5 star billing, but was productive nonetheless. In his 4 years, Brown ran for 2,678 yards and 24 touchdowns, his biggest seasons being his freshman and junior. As a freshman he rushed for 742 yards and 5 touchdowns and as a junior, 904 yards and 9 touchdowns.
An undrafted free agent, Brown signed with the Rams and has been their 3rd back ever since. He has produced at least 200 yards and each of the last 3 seasons, and for a career has 934 total yards from scrimmage.

Perine's 4,122 rushing yards stand number 1 All-Time at OU, despite playing in just 3 seasons.
Perine was drafted in the 4th round in 2017 by the Washington Redksins. He rushed for 635 yards in 21 games for the Redskins, before being moved around to the Bengals and Dolphins. It's not for certain if his career if over, but things aren't looking up for Perine.

A 5 Star prospect from Westbrook, Michael was a 3 year starter who rushed for 4,423 yards during his prep career. As a sophomore he exploded on the scene with 1,300 yards and 21 touchdowns, as a junior, 1,171 yards and 28 touchdowns, and 1,412 yards and 25 scores as a senior.
Michael went on to A&M and contributed immediately, rushing for 844 yards and 10 touchdowns. His next best season came as a junior. He rushed for 899 yards and 8 scores. He left A&M with 3,114 scrimmage yards and 35 touchdowns.
He was drafted in the 2nd round by the Seattle Seahawks. He spent a couple of seasons there, bounced to Dallas and Green Bay, but never truly made a huge impact. His best season was 2016, when he went back to Seattle after starting the year in Green Bay. He had 469 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns with the Seahawks. For a career, Michael has 1,089 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns.
13. Ronald Jones II

Ronald Jones was a superstar at McKinney North, rushing for over 2,000 yards in his 2 seasons as a full time starter. As a sophomore, Jones ran for 520 yards and 9 touchdowns. As a junior, on 244 carries, Jones rushed for 2,406 yards and 39 touchdowns and as a senior, on 240 carries, Jones rushed for 2,009 yards for 28 touchdowns.
Jones arrived at USC and contributed immediately, going for 1,026 total yards as a true freshman. As a sophomore, Jones rushed for 1,082 yards and 12 touchdowns, before ending his career with 1,550 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns.
Jones was drafted in the 2nd round by Tampa Bay, and is proving to be worth the selection. In 2 seasons, he has 1,110 and 7 total touchdowns, after a huge 2nd year. Jones rushed for 724 yards and caught 309 yards worth of passes.
12. Trayveon Williams

Williams rushed for 3,800 yards at C.E. King the majority coming as a junior. Williams rushed 240 times for 2,391 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also caught 20 passes for 411 yards and 5 touchdowns. As a senior, he rushed for 1,409 yards and 20 touchdowns and caught 18 passes for 243 yards.
The 4 star showed up in College Station and produced immediately. Williams is the first true freshman in A&M history to go over 1,000 yards, rushing for 1,057 yards on 156 carries. As a sophomore he ran for 798 yards and 1,524 yards as a junior before leaving for the NFL. For a career, Williams rushed for 3,615 yards and 34 touchdowns and had 4,176 total yards.
Drafted in the 6th round by the Bengals, Williams suited up for 11 games this season, but did not record a stat. I expect a bigger 2020 season for Williams this upcoming year.
11: DeAndre Washington

A 3 star prospect out of FB Marshall, Washington rushed for 2,082 yards in his high school career. As a senior he rushed for 1,338 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Despite the lack of hype, Washington went in at Texas Tech. A four year producer, Washington finished his career with over 4,502 total yards and 27 touchdowns. His biggest seasons were his junior and senior year when he took over as the starter full time. Those years he had 1,431, and 1,877 total yards.
Those 2 monstrous years led him to being drafted in 2016 by the now, Las Vegas Raiders. In his 4 seasons with the team, Washington has 1,735 total scrimmage yards, and 8 toucdowns: 1,122 of them rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns.
10. Kendall Hunter

Kendall Hunter was the best player on one of John Tyler's best squads to come through in the mid 2000s. A 3 star prospect, Hunter rushed for a career total 2,799 yards, catching for another 597 yards totaling 32 touchdowns. His senior year he ran for 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns.
At OK State, Hunter was an All-American and put up 4,700 total scrimmage yards and 39 total touchdowns. His best seasons came as a sophomore and senior. As a sophomore, Hunter rushed for 1,555 yards and 16 touchdowns, and as a senior, 1,548 yards for 16 touchdowns.
Hunter got his opportunity in the league with the 49ers when he was drafted in the 4th round. In his 5 seasons, Hunter rushed for 1,202 yards, all in his first 3 seasons. His best year was 2011 when he rushed for 473 yards and 2 touchdowns.
9. Joseph Addai

An All-American at Sharpstown, Addai rushed for 1,429 yards as the team's quarterback his senior year. He arrived to LSU, having to learn the tailback position, he never rushed for a 1,000 yards in a season. His best season for the Tigers was his senior year in 2005. He rushed for 911 yards, but despite the numbers his draft stock was incredibly high. He was drafted in the first round by the Colts in 2006. In his first two seasons, Addai rushed for over 1,000 yards: 1,081 as a rookie and 1,072 yards for a combined 19 touchdowns. For a career, Addai rushed for 4,459 yards, while adding 1,448 yards through the air for a combined total of 48 career touchdowns.
8. Lamichael James

Before he want on to be one of Oregon's best running backs, LaMichael James was one of East Texas's best running backs. He was an all state selection his junior season, but during his senior year, did he ever take off. He set the L-E record for rushing yards in a season with 2,043 yards and 24 touchdowns on 193 carries. Listed as just a 3 star, James play was worth 5 stars to me.
James' reign started in 2009 as he was the Freshman Performer of the year after putting up over 1700 yards and 14 touchdowns his redshirt year at Oregon. As a sophomore James took home the Doak Walker Award after going over 1700 yards on the ground and 1,939 collectively for 24 touchdowns. As a junior, James was another first team All-American after going for 1,805 yards rushing and 2,015 yards collectively and 19 touchdowns. For a career, James had 822 Touches, 5,668 yards, and 57 Touchdowns.
As a pro, James' career was disappointing. In 4 years with the 49ers and Dolphins, James rushed for 193 yards and never touched the end zone.
7. Stepfan Taylor

A 4 star prospect and 3 year starter at Mansfield High, Taylor rushed for a school record 4,792 yards and 67 touchdowns. As a sophomore he had 743 yards and 6 touchdowns, but the two years he was the starter he put up numbers. As a junior, he rushed for 1,586 yards and 21 touchdowns to go with 19 catches for 231 yards and 4 touchdowns. Taylor had a massive senior year, rushing for 2,463 yards and 33 touchdowns as well as 12 catches for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns.
At Stanford, Taylor saw the field immediately. As a freshman he rushed for 303 yards and 4 touchdowns. Taylor's best season at Stanford came as a senior, rushing fro 1,530 yards and 13 touchdowns, leaving Stanford with 5,078 yards from scrimmage and 45 total touchdowns.
He was drafted in the 5th round after running a 4.76 40 yard dash. He spent 4 years with the Cardinals, but never starred like he did at Stanford. He has 547 total yards and 393 rushing yards with 1 touchdown in his career.

Dobbins had monstrous numbers his junior and senior seasons, going for over 2,000 yards in both seasons. As a sophomore, Dobbins had 244 yards and 2 touchdowns followed by 2,230 yards and 37 touchdowns his junior and 2,741 yards and 35 touchdowns his senior year.
Dobbins was impact as soon as he got on campus, going for over 1,500 yards in total production and adding 8 touchdowns as a true freshman. As a sophomore his numbers dipped a bit, this time only going for 1300 yards and added 12 touchdowns. As a junior, Dobbins was the man; rushing for over 2,000 yards, Dobbins had 2,250 total yards and added another 23 touchdowns as a junior.
Dobbins is expected to be taken within the first 2 rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft.
5. Jay Ajayi

2 year starter at Frisco Liberty, Ajayi rushed for over 3,800 yards in his career. As a junior he had 209 carries for 1,627 yards and 20 touchdowns, and as a senior 225 carries for 2,240 and 35 touchdowns.
The 4 star chose Boise State and after redshirting, made impact as a freshman. Ajayi rushed for 548 yards and 4 touchdowns, before exploding as a sophomore. In his final 2 seasons, Ajayi rushed for 3,248 yards for the Broncos, adding 46 touchdowns. For a career, Ajayi had over 4,567 total yards and 55 touchdowns.
Ajayi was drafted in the 5th round and spent his first season as a backup. He took over as the starter in 2016 for the Dolphins and rushed for 1,272 yards and 8 touchdowns. After only starting the first 7 games for the Dolphins in 2017 he was traded to the Eagles. Ajayi hasn't been healthy in Philadelphia, failing to play in over 7 games in a season. For a career, Ajayi has 2,546 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.

4. Jacquizz Rodgers

Jacquizz Rodgersc scored 136 touchdowns in high school. In 2007 he rushed for 2,902 yards and 43 scored. For a career he gained 8,245 yards which was 6th in the state when it was accomplished. Not only did Rodgers shine on offense, but was a safety on defense as well.
In 2008, Rodgers announced his self to the PAC-12 by rushing for 1,253 yards and scoring 11 touchdowns. As a sophomore he rushed for 1,440 yards and 21 touchdowns and as a junior, 1,184 yards and 14 touchdowns. For a career, Rodgers had 4,933 total yards from scrimmage and 51 touchdowns.
As an NFL player, Rodgers has 2,067 rushing yards under his belt, and 3,657 total yards from scrimmage. His best season was in 2012 with Atlanta, when he had 764 yards from scrimmage. Oh, all of this at 5'7 and less than 200 pounds.
3. Jamaal Charles

Charles's story is one of persistence and open mindedness after being discovered in the Special Olympics in school. Before the Special Olympics Charles didn't play sports. As a junior, he ran for 2,051 yards and 25 touchdowns, being named first team All-State. As a senior Charles, came back with another 2,056 yards and 25 touchdowns being named a prep All-American and being named All-State again.
At Texas, Charles was impact as soon as he arrived, helping Texas win a National Championship in the 05 season. He rushed for 878 yards and 11 touchdowns that Freshman season. As a sophomore he rushed for 831 yards and 7 scores before exploding as a junior.
His 1,619 yards and 18 touchdowns was enough for him to make the leap to the NFL. Drafted in the 3rd round by the Kansas City Chiefs, Charles was amazing. For a career, Charles rushed for 7,563 yards and 44 touchdowns. His best season came in 2013. He had 1,980 total yards from scrimmage and 19 touchdowns. Charles was named top 100 in the NFL 5 times by his peers, and made the Pro Bowl 4 times.
2. Cedric Benson

There have been a lot of guys on this list who were 5 stars coming out of high school, but few players lived up to the billing the way Cedric Benson did. His 8,423 rushing yards were the most in 5A history when he moved on. Benson won 3 State Championships in a row at Midland Lee, rushing for 15 touchdowns in those 3 State games. His junior year, Benson ran for over 3,500 yards and 51 touchdowns and was the first high school player to ever be on the cover of Dave Campbell's Texass Football Magazine.
The greatness followed him to Texas were Benson put up over 6,000 yards from scrimmage. His best year was his senior year. Benson led the Longhorns to a Rose Bowl win over Michigan after rushing for 1,834 yards his senior season for 19 touchdowns. For a career Benson ran for 5,540 yards, clipping over a 1,000 each year on campus.
Drafted 4th overall by the Chicago Bears, Benson's career was shaky at first. Fighting injuries, Benson never rushed over a 1,000 yard season in his 3 years with the Bears. Benson had his breakout season with the Bengals in 2009. He rushed for 1,251 yards and 6 touchdowns. He followed that season with another 2 1,000 yard seasons, before ending his career as a back up with the Green Bay Packers. Benson's total numbers in the NFL are 6,017 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns with 120 catches for 833 yards and 1 touchdown.
1. Adrian Peterson

5 Star back Adrian Peterson in his two years of varsity football (sophomore year ruled ineligible) ran for 5,011 yards for his career on 498 carries.
Whether it be against 3A opponents or not, Peterson proved right away that he was the best. His freshman year at OU, Peterson rushed for 1,925 yards and 15 touchdowns. The next season, in 2 less games, Peterson ran for 1,104 yards and 14 touchdowns, before playing in 8 games as a junior with 1,012 yards and 12 touchdowns. The physicality and speed combination put Peterson with the All-Time Greats. But he wasn't done.
Drafted 7th overall by the Minnesota Vikings, Peterson proved to be a man among boys in the NFL too. His rookie season, in 14 games and 9 starts, Peterson rushed for 1,341 yards and 12 touchdowns. His best season was in 2012. Coming off an ACL injury, Adrian Peterson not only played in all 16 games, but rushed for 2,097 yards. His 2,314 total yards ranks 9th all-time. For a career, Peterson has rushed for 14,216 yards and 111 touchdowns.
