He started out as a receiver in Houston and had a 99 yard kickoff return for a touchdown as a freshman. His junior season led Longview to their first State Championship in 81 years, throwing for 3,877 yards for 41 touchdowns to 4 interceptions while rushing for 664 yards and 8 touchdowns. After that remarkable season, Haynes was named Texas Player of the Year, 6A Player of the Year, Ford Player of the Year, East Texas MVP, and District MVP. By those standards what happened Haynes' senior year was a let down. King was 123/213 throwing for 1,926 yards for 20 touchdowns to 8 interceptions. On the ground he ran 55 times for 506 yards and 10 touchdowns. Through his 39 career games, King threw for a school record 7,910 yards and 86 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,408 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Haynes first year at Texas A&M was a redshirt season, though he played in a loss to Alabama and South Carolina. In 2022, Haynes again won the QB competition, this time against True freshman Connor Weigman and Max Johnson. Haynes started the year out decently against Sam Houston State, but was benched after a loss to Appalachian State at home. 5 Star Recruit, The Real Deal McNeal was just that at Lufkin High. A 4 year varsity letterman Reggie Mac shined as a senior throwing for 2,385 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and rushing for 856 yards and 10 touchdowns en route to leading Lufkin to a State Championship.
At Texas A&M, McNeal's career started off with a bang. As a true freshman, McNeal came off the bench to throw 4 touchdowns against the number 1 Oklahoma Sooners. His freshman year ended due to an ankle injury. After a so so, sophomore year, McNeal exploded as a junior, throwing 2,791 yards for 14 touchdowns to 4 interceptions and rushing for 718 yards and 8 touchdowns.
After a 1,963 passing yard performance as a senior, it was questioned whether Reggie could play NFL QB. His 4.35 40 yard dash was fast enough for the Bengals to draft him in the 6th round as a receiver. In 2006 he was on the practice squad until he suited as an emergency quarterback. McNeal received one snap at QB and scrambled 8 yards for a first down. After being released, McNeal had several good years at receiver in the CFL.

I honestly thought Armstrong would get moved to running back at Nebraska, but he proved me wrong and started 44 games at Nebraska. During his career he threw for 8,871 yards and 67 touchdowns to 44 interceptions and rushed for 1,819 yards and 23 touchdowns.
HS: Lake Travis 2006-08
College: Texas, SMU 2009-11, 2012-13
NFL: St. Louis Rams, New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders, Carolina Panters, Cleveland Browns 2014-2019
Responsible for my heartbreak in 2008, the Gatorade National Player of the Year was a 2 Time State champion, before arriving at the 40 Acres. He threw for 12,534 yards, leaving High School as the state's top passer in history, and finished 2nd with 138 touchdowns.
When Gilbert arrived at Texas there were huge expectations, but his first year he backed up Colt McCoy. When Colt was knocked out of the National Championship, Gilbert entered and battled, bringing Texas back in the game from a huge deficit to within 3. The game ended in Alabama's favor, but Gilbert showed promise. And then it crashed. As a sophomore he threw 2,700 yards and threw 10 touchdowns to 17 interceptions. As a junior he played in 2 games before redshirting, so he could transfer.
He transferred to SMU and started 23 games. His first season he started 13 games and threw for 2,932 yards with 15 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. As a senior he came back and started 10 games and looked more like the prospect who left high school. He threw for 3,528 yards in 10 games and threw 21 touchdowns to 7 interceptions.

Klubnik arrived to Clemson's campus with much anticipation if he could unseat DJ Uiagalelei. While it did not happen immediately, Klubnik did start the last two games of the year versus North Carolina and Tennessee. For his freshman year Klubnik completed 61 percent of his passes for 697 yards 2 tds and 3 ints. In 2023 Klubnik got the keys to the show and led the Tigers to an 8-4 record. He completed 64% of his passes for 2,844 yards and 19 tds and 9 int. He added 182 yards on the ground and 4 tds. It was a modest year for Klubnik, and next year we're all wondering will we see that 5 star level talent on display for the Tigers.

As a senior those numbers dipped, throwing for 1,136 yards and rushing for 307 yards and 5 tds. He led Katy Tompkins to a 10-1 record, losing to eventual state champs North Shore in the first round.
Milroe arrived to campus in 2021, and to many people's surprise, remained at the QB position despite his incredible athletic physique. He redshirted in 2021 and served as Bryce Young's backup in 2022 as well. In 2023, the reigns were handed over to Milroe, and it started off a little rocky. After a loss to Texas at home, Milroe was benched against USF the following week. After both replacements stunk up the joint, Milroe returned as the starting QB. From then on, Milroe turned up. Jalen finished the year with a 66% completion rate throwing for 2,834 yards for 23 tds to just 6 interceptions. He ran for 531 yards and 12 tds, leading Alabama to the CFP in a loss to the Michigan Wolverines.

HS: Trinity Christian 2018-20
College: Jackson State 2021-22, Colorado 2023-
Rated a 4 star out of high school, question marks surrounded Shedeur Sanders after a dominant high school career. Only problem is he played private school ball for his dad. How legitimate could it be? He threw for 12,627 yards and 66 touchdowns in his high school career, leading Trinity to 3 state championships and 1 national championship.
From Trinity, the legitimate argument arose again at Jackson State university. Once again, another small school, and once again playing for his dad. The numbers were crazy once again. In 2 years, Sanders threw for 6,983 yards 70 touchdowns to just 14 interceptions. He led the Tigers to a 23-3 record during that time, including a 16-0 in conference record. Of course his father moved on to Colorado and brought his Louis Vuiton with him. In his first season at Colorado, Sanders and the Buffs went 4-8, but one thing remained constant, Shedeur can throw the football. In his first season in Boulder, Sanders threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns on 69% passing. He ran for 394 yards and added 4 more touchdowns. The Buffs went 4-8 in his first year, but Sanders was the reason games were as competitive as they were. Sacked more than any other QB in America, Sanders still delivered on time passes both in the short game and down the field. It'll be interesting to see how he performs and where he'll land in the NFL.
HS: West Mesquite 2009-10
College: TCU 2011-15

In 2013 he spent time as a receiver, running back and quarterback becoming the only Horn Frog to rush for a 100, catch for a 100, and throw for 200 all in one season. His last 2 seasons he was the undoubted starting Q for the Frogs. Those 2 years he combined for 7,475 passing yards and 64 touchdowns to 20 interceptions while rushing for 1,319 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Boykin was an undrafted free agent and signed with the Seattle Seahawks and spent 3 seasons as the back up QB, before getting into off the field issues.

His first 3 seasons he started all 16 games and led the colts to an 11-5 record each season. He threw for 4,374 yards his rookie season, 3,822 his second year, and 4,761 yards his third season. His TDS were 23 his first 2 years and 40 his third season. That incredible start to a career derailed quickly. The next year Luck struggled. He only played in 7 games before being injured for the season, but during those games he threw 15 tds to 12 interceptions. The next year Luck came back stronger, but only started 15 games, leading the Colts to an 8-7 record but was injured for the year. The injury was bad enough for Luck to miss the next season as well. In 2018, in what was Luck's last football season, Luck returned back to form. He started 16 games and threw for 4,593 yards for 39 touchdowns to 13 int. He led the Colts to a 10-6 record and back to the playoffs. In the preseason of 2019, Andrew Luck called it a wrap.
HS: Lake Travis 2011-12

NFL: Cleveland Browns 2018-21, Carolina Panthers and LA Rams 2022, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2023-
Baker Mayfield took over as starting QB for Lake Travis his junior year in 2011 and returned the prominent program back to the promised land. Baker led Lake Travis to a 16-0 record throwing for 3,788 yards on 65% passing for 45 tds to just 5 ints. As a senior, it was a let down for Lake Travis and Baker. He led the team to a 9-2 record as a senior, throwing for 2,467 yards and 22 tds to just 3 int.
Baker didn't receive the level of attention from colleges he deserved so decided to walk on to Texas Tech in 2013. There Baker did the unthinkable. Not only did he walk on, but found his self as the starting QB for the Tech Red Raiders. Baker won Freshman of the year for the conference. In 8 games Baker threw for 2,315 for 12 tds to 9 int. Baker decided to transfer to Oklahoma after his incredible walk on year at Tech. In 2015 Baker returned to the field and immediately balled. Baker completed 68% of his passes throwing for 3700 yards and 36 tds to just 7 int. As a junior, Baker doubled down throwing for 70% and 3,965 yards for 40 tds to 8 int. As a senior, he hit 70% again, this time throwing for 4,627 yards for 43 tds and 6 int in 14 games. That performance was great enough to win the Heisman Trophy. He led OU to the CFP where they played Georgia and had an incredible offensive display. The Sooners lost, but Baker had solidified his self as an absolute dude.
So much of a dude, The Cleveland Browns took Baker Mayfield number 1 in the 2018 NFL Draft. After not winning the starting job, Baker came in relief and finished the last 13 games of the season. He led the Browns to a 6-7 record, throwing for 3,725 yards for 27 tds to 14 int. Cleveland had life for the first time around Baker. The next year life looked dim. Baker started all 16 games, but struggled. The Browns went 6-10, and Baker's numbers took a dip. He threw for 3,827 yards for 22 tds to 21 int. The next year, The Browns played great ball behind Baker and went 11-5. Baker cut the interceptions down to 8 and raided the tds up to 26. 2020 was a disappointment for Baker as he only played in 14 games and finished 6-8. The Browns decided to move on from Baker as he signed with Carolina. The move was short lived as he signed with the LA Rams and actually won a couple games. Enough for the Buccaneers to give Baker a chance to be a starter in 2023. Baker did not disappoint. Baker led the Bucs back to the playoffs with a 9-8 record and threw for 4,044 yards for 28 tds to 10 int. Baker reupped with the Buccaneers and we'll see what 2024 has in store for him.
HS: Allen 2012-14
College: Texas A&M 2015, Oklahoma 2017-18
NFL: Arizona Cardinals 2019-
Kyler Murray is the greatest high school QB in Texas History. Kyler started his sophomore year as the backup before taking over the job in week 6. From that week on Kyler won 43 games in a row at Allen, including 3 straight State Championships. As a sophomore, in 11 games he threw for 2,004 yards and 17 tds while rushing for 1,370 yards and 25 touchdowns. Allen defeated Houston Lamar 35-21 in the state title game. In 2013, Murray was the full time starter and absolutely went nuts. He threw for 3,669 yards and 46 touchdowns and added another 1,274 rushing yards and 19 tds on the ground. That year Murray and Allen took down Pearland 63-28. As a senior, Murray threw for 4,713 yards for 54 touchdowns and run for another 1,485 yards and 25 tds. For a finale, Allen took out Cypress Ranch 47-16. That level of production and winning is unmatched.
Murray left Allen as a 5 star consensus prospect and moved on to Texas A&M where he was forced to compete with Kyle Allen, the top rated QB from the class before. In split time, Murray never got into a rhythm and in 8 games threw for 686 yards for 5 tds to 7 int. Murray left A&M that off-season and followed the steps of Baker Mayfield to Oklahoma. He sat behind Baker's majestic 2017 year and in 2018 had won just as epic. Murray led OU back to the CFP after going for 4,361 yards through the air for 42 tds to just 7 ints. On the ground Kyler was just as effective as ever. He ran for 1001 yards and 12 tds as well, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2018. Oklahoma lost to LSU 28-63.
Murray was the first overall pick in 2019 by the Arizona Cardinals. His first season was not successful from a win total, but Kyler did win AP Offensive Rookie of the Year. The Cardinals went 5-10-1 that season, and Kyler threw for 3,772 yards and 20 tds to 12 int. He ran for an additional 544 yards and 4 tds. In 2020 the Cardinals improved to 8-8 and Kyler's numbers increased. He threw for 3,971 yards and 26 tds to 12 int. He ran for 819 yards and 11 tds. 2021, things started looking up for Kyler. He started 14 games and led the Cardinals to a 9-5 record in those games, even meeting and defeating the Cowboys in the Wild Card Round. The next year things fell through for Kyler. He only played in 11 games, and while his numbers weren't terrible, the Cardinals were. Last season he only played in 8 games, and once against the Cardinals were bad. 2024 is a statement year for Murray, will he continue his trend, or will he rise back to the top.
HS: Channelview 2014-15
College: Alabama, Oklahoma 2016-18, 2019
NFL: Philadelphia Eagles 2020-
4 Star recruit and 247's top dual-threat in the nation, Jalen Hurts was well sought after a 40 touchdown junior year. His senior year was disappointing, only playing 11 games but his 3,700 total yards and 41 total touchdowns did not.
Hurts arrived at Alabama at the perfect time. He took over the second drive of the game vs. USC as a freshman and didn't relinquish the job for the next 2 seasons. He lost in the National Championship game as a freshman, and started every game except a half his sophomore year. Of course he was replaced in the second half of the National Championship game that year, but Alabama came out victorious. As a junior he served as a back up before rescuing the Tide in the SEC Championship game. At Alabama, Hurts threw for 5,626 yards and 48 touchdowns to 12 interceptions while rushing for 1,976 yards and 23 touchdowns. Jalen considered the transfer past from some of the other Texas guys and found his self in Oklahoma. In his one season at Oklahoma, Hurts threw for 3,851 yards on 69.7 completion percentage for 32 touchdowns to 8 interceptions. On the ground Hurts added another 1,298 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Hurts was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020 in the 2nd Round. In his first season, Hurts spent the year as the back up for Carson Wentz. In 2021, Hurts received the keys to the offense. In his first season, Hurts started 15 games and led the eagles to an 8-7 record during that time. He threw for 3,144 yards and 16 tds to 9 int. He ran for 784 yards and 10 tds, leading the Eagles into the playoffs. People still weren't convinced on Jalen and all he did was turn it up a notch in 2022. Hurts started 15 games and threw for 3,701 yards for 22 tds to 6 int, rushing for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns and led the Eagles to a 14-1 record. The Eagles and the tush-push led Hurts made it all the way to the Super Bowl before losing to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2023, the Eagles took a step back, but Hurts still performed. Jalen started all 17 games for the Eagles, throwing for 3,858 yards for 23 tds to 15 ints. Jalen ran for 605 yards and 15 more touchdowns, but were not knocked out of the playoffs by Baker Mayfield and the Bucs. 2024 is a big year for Hurts, but Jalen's done nothing but perform since being on this level.
College: Georgia 2006-2008
NFL: Detroit Lions 2009-20, LA Rams 2021-
Matthew Stafford threw for the 4th most yards in 4A football in 2003 as a sophomore. He lit the state up with 3,182 yards and 38 touchdowns leading Highland Park to the 5th round before losing to Denton Ryan 45-21. As a junior Stafford's number fell off due to injury in 2004, Stafford threw for 1,763 yards and 18 tds. As a senior, Stafford returned to dominant prominence. He threw for 3,991 yards on 64.5% passing for 38 tds to 6 picks. He led HP to their first state championship in decades.
When Stafford arrived on campus early in 06, he set his self up to be the named the first Freshman starter since Quincy Carter. Those Dawgs went 9-4 that year with Stafford leading the way at QB. The Dawgs started out undefeated but loss 4 games in conference play. Stafford struggled that first year, throwing for 1,749 passing yards for 7 tds, but threw 13 int. That offseason, Georgia went to work and came back tough in 07. They had an 11-2 record, and Stafford led the way with 2,523 yards for 19 tds to 10 int. As a Junior, Stafford led the Bulldogs to a 10-3 record. It was his best year statically throwing for 3,459 yards for 25 tds and 10 int.
Stafford's golden arm led him to being the number one pick of the 2009 draft. Stafford struggled early on just to be healthy with Detroit. He only played in 13 games his first 2 seasons. In 2011, Stafford should've won MVP. He led the Lions to an 11-5 record and threw for 5,038 yards for 41 tds to just 16 int. In his 12 seasons with the Lions, Stafford only managed to have winning seasons in 4 of those years. There best year they were 11-5 in 2014. In 2021, Stafford was traded to LA Rams and instantly became legend. He led the Rams to a 12-5 record that season, and was apart of a glorious run that led the Rams to a Super Bowl Victory. That first year in LA, Stafford threw for 4886 yards for 41 tds to 17 int. After the Super Bowl Stafford's career has been marred by injury. He only played in 9 games in 22, and played in 15 in 2023. Time will tell how the legend will add to his story for 2024.
College: Texas Tech 2014-16
NFL: Kansas City Chiefs 2017-
Patrick Mahomes was a 3 year starter on varsity and 2 year QB for Whitehouse. Patrick got the keys to the offense as a junior and immediately began to play like the Pat we know and love today. From a skill standpoint, there are better runners than PAt, from a passing perspective, there are a couple who can spend it just as good as MAhomes. What you won't find is a guy that can mesh the two of those skill sets together. As a junior, Mahomes threw for 3,839 yards on 56% completion with 46 touchdowns. He also ran for 258 yards and 6 scores, all of these stats in just 12 games. As a senior, MAhomes was on his way to a perfect season, until losing in the third round. He led the Wildcats to a 12-1 record, throwing for 4,619 and 50 touchdowns and rushing for 948 yards and 15 more scores. That offensive output is utterly ridiculous for 13 games.
Now how did a guy that's 6'3 190 pound not considered one of the elite QB prospects? Many thought Patrick would follow in his father's foot steps and choose the diamond. So just a 3 star prospect heads up to Lubbock to join the Texas Tech Red Raiders and played in 7 games and started 4. In those games Mahomes threw for 1,547 yards for 16 toucdhowns and 4 interceptions. The true freshman energized the offense and as his sophomore year approached his level of usage did too. Pat started all 13 games and threw for 4,653 yards for 36 tds to 15 int and ran in another 10 tds. As a junior Mahomes connected even more. He threw for 5,052 yards for 41 tds to just 10 int. Mahomes ability to scramble and keep his eyes down field and launch bombs puts him in another class of athlete.
That skill set transferred perfectly to the NFL. Taken 12th overall, Mahomes sat behind Alex Smith for the first season in the league. He started the last game of the season and played fairly well. He threw for 284 yards in a win and dazzled his incredible playmaking skills. The Chiefs got rid of Alex Smith and gave the keys to Mahomes right away. All Patrick did was go out and produce this stat line. 383/580 5,097 Yards 50 TDS 12 INT, 60 Carries 272 Yards, 2 TDS - 2018, losing to the Patriots in 2018. In 2019, started 14 games and led his team to a 11-3 record. His stats were down, but the ultimate win was up. He led the Chiefs to the Super Bowl and won against the San Francisco 49ers. Mahomes was the MVP with 278 yards 0 interceptions and a rushing td. In 2021, Mahomes went off against statistically leading the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game, but losing to Joe Burrow and the Bengals. In 2022, Mahomes answered back in Mahomeboy fashion. He won his 2nd MVP throwing for 5,250 yards for 41 Tds to 12 picks. Mahomes walked through the AFC this year and defeated Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. 2023, same story, though Lamar Jackson won the MVP, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs came into the playoffs 10-6 and gave everybody the business. They won the Super Bowl against the 49ers in OT. Mahomes is a 3 time Super Bowl Champion and a 4 time All-Pro QB. Officially Him.
