Hold up a minute I'm the king of the ghetto. Holdin the rap game, like wood grain, I can't let go. One of the best rappers to ever hail from Texas, Z-Ro has been an underground legend for over two decades. While Ro takes criticism for not being very encouraging in his music, his rhythm and blues and rap skills has placed him along the greatest ever. My favorite 10 songs from The King of the Ghetto.
10. Here We Go

This is another one of those songs that Z-Ro is accused of being depressing, but nonetheless it's a great song.
9. Tired

Mya's appearance on here is what made this song go on repeat in my sister's car my sophomore year. Listening to it everyday for about 3 months makes it a favorite in my head.
Released in 2016, Z-Ro had another hit on this fast pace track. It's contrary to the traditional Z-Ro tracks, but the bars and R&B style is still flexed.
7. The Mo City Don

The least famous of the two Mo City Don's, K-I-N-G the Mo City Don is a classic Z-Ro feel. His singing/rap style is flawless on this track.
6. 25 Lighters

This 10 minute freestyle is a Texas treat. Released in 2008, this Texas treat had me going as a Sophomore. If you wanna know what was in my head during that magical playoff appearance, Ro had several appearances on the playlist.
5. One Deep
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_gzHdFXL8I
4. M16
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmioKiMGEAE
My middle school days wouldn't be complete without M16 and One Deep. These two songs carried me through 7th or 8th grade and the lively beats with the murderous flow, motivated me throughout my Dragon Days.
3. Swang on 4's
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4x0ITGqd0I
Big Moe steals the day when he starts off with Swannnggaaaaaassss and droppaaasassss.... Nonetheless Ro and Cl'Che deliver some timeless bars on this Texas classic.
2. I Hate You Bitch
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qY0xcXGDiFE
Nothing displays Z-Ro's unique style more than this song. A smooth instrumental with a deep, spiteful feel, as he shares his thoughts to a woman who has wronged him.
1. Mo City Don Freestyle
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Jnjnbx_j1w
The Texas Classic. Without question, if you needed a song that screams Texas, this is the go to. Play this song for any fan familiar with Texas rap from 14-50 and I guarantee you their mother is Dorothy Marie McVey Matthews. 10 Toes down in my m******** shoes.
