Most seasoned rappers release a project once every 18 to 24 months. They've mastered the art of releasing their singles so that they maximize the profit of each song. December 1st, Lil' Baby said eff' all that, and released his 3rd project of this year alone. If you're over the age of 26 and don't work around kids, you probably don't know him. The "Yes Indeed" rapper has taken the publicity from working with Drake and ran with it for "Street Gossip." As one of the top albums of the year, let's take a look at Lil Baby's best 10 songs of the year.
4. Close Friends
10. "Crush a Lot"

Lil' Baby has a peculiar sound that you can tell is still developing. He's a mix of his peers, with a similar flow as Gunna and the influence of Young Thug with the melodic rhythms. "Crush a Lot" has a repetitive chorus that allows you to follow along fairly easy, and clever metaphors that visualize exactly what he means.

9. Fit In
"Earl on the beat." This slow beat, mixed with Baby's fast flow is an instant head nodder and the base kicks in your teeth as you would expect it to. Baby's story telling stands out in this hit and continues the trend of visualizing what he's actually rapping.

8. Life Goes On feat. Gunna and Lil' Uzi Vert
Fellas, we've all been there. Sometimes it just be like that. "Got me walking on the thin line on my tippy toes..." Even though the verses have nothing to do with the chorus, the fast paced, up tempo beat is a sure head nodder, and fans of Madden 19 enjoy this one thoroughly.

7. Anyway feat. 2 Chainz and Gucci Mane
If Baby's verse would have been tougher this song would've sky rocketed to number 1. 2 Chainz and Gucci Mane steal the show with this one. With lines like "Tattoo my name on placentas," the corky Chainz strikes another great guest verse. Clone Gucci has been tearing things up like a 4th Migo since he was released from prison. Guwop is like the Godfather of Atlanta trap, and for him to extend a hand to Baby is great.

6. Word On Street
"Word on Street" gives me the same feel as "Sold Out Dates and Yosemite" with the tango type beat mixed with a light dose of 808. Baby's world play and usage of the "ate" syllable is so catchy and before you know your shoulders are moving with the words.

5. Never Recover Gunna and Lil Baby and Drake
Drake is killing. He might've won 2018, this verse on "Never Recover" is just proof that he'll wreck whether he's the guest or host. Not gonna lie, Gunna and Lil' Baby's verses leave a little bit to be desired, but when the guy Drizzy kills, it's a top song.

4. Close Friends
From the album "Drip Harder," "Close Friends" is a teen favorite. I could play this song in class and guys and girls alike will enter their feelings and sing their hearts out. Baby show his range as an artist with this mellow "in his feelings" type of song. If his songs are true, I feel sorry for his girlfriend, cause this bout the 3rd time he's cheated on a song this year.

3. Drip Too Hard Lil Baby and Gunna
Surely, you've heard this on the radio by now. From the second this one comes on your head vibes and you feel this one immediately. I honestly believe these two have started this entire "Drip"
movement. While there aren't lines that stick out to me, this song makes you want to dance, like right away.

Sold Out Dates |
2. Sold Out Dates Gunna feat. Lil Baby
From the guitar at the beginning I was hooked. It's not the best song on this top 10, but it's been played more than any other on the track. Gunna kills this track by his self, but when Baby gets on it keeps the partying going for another 70 seconds and I'm here for it. The song was so great it's the inspiration for Yosemite, one of my favorite tracks from Astroworld.

Yes Indeed |
1. Yes Indeed feat. Drake
"The dash is digi, the schedule is busy...." Drake is making a case for artist of the year and it's not even his post. Of course we've all been captivated since we heard "wah, wah, wah, bitch I'm the baby." Yes Indeed might be the song of the year so most definitely it's Lil' Baby's best song of 2018.
