Top 5 Running Backs from Kilgore Since 2000

Kilgore is one of the more physical schools in ETX, and they always have a great ground game when they're good. Here's a look at their best runners since 2000.
6. Trayveon Epps

Years: 2019-20
College: Kilgore

A small framed running back, Epps was powerful and had finishing speed. In his 2 year varsity career, Epps finished with the 3rd most yards in school history with, 3,673 yards. His best year was 2020 when he ran for 1,974 yards and 24 touchdowns.

5. Isaiah Ross
Years: 2021-22
College: Harding University

After back up duty and rushing for over 700 yards as a junior, Ross stepped on the scene to replace Davin Rider and went above and beyond. Leading the Bulldogs to the 4th round, Ross ran for 2,532 yards and 27 touchdowns. He was the bulk of the offense, and his physical running style aided him to being one of the best in Bulldogs history.

4. Kevrin Justice
Years: 2013-14
College: Houston

Led the Kilgore Bulldogs to state in 2013 as a junior when he was District MVP after rushing for 1,966 yards and 36 touchdowns. Those 36 touchdowns are a school record for rushing touchdowns in a season. Justice finished his career at Kilgore with 51 career touchdowns and finished with the 3rd most yards in school history with 3,410.

3.  LaDarius Anthony
Years: 2009-2011
College: N/A

As a sophomore Anthony exploded on the ETX scene rushing for 1508 yards and 24 touchdowns on 208 carries. His junior and senior stats are hard to find, but as a senior he finished his career as the district MVP, leading Kilgore into the 4th round. Anthony holds the school record for most yards and touchdowns in a career with 3,766 yards and 51 touchdowns.

2. Davin Rider

Years: 2020-21
College: TJC

Davin Rider started his career as the starting safety his junior season. After a bone crushing, hitting season, Rider moved over to offense where he used his great patience to run all through defenses in 2021. Rider was impressive, carrying the Bulldogs to the 4th round of the playoffs. He ran for 2,286 yards and 28 touchdowns, including going for 319 against Lindale.

1. Keith Gilliam
Years: 2003-2005College: Utah State
Keith Gilliam was the 4A Player of the Year when he rushed for 2,775 yards for 28 touchdowns to lead Kilgore to a State Chmapionship. In the playoffs alone, Gilliam rushed for 1,151 yards and 11 touchdowns. For a career, Gilliam rushed for 3,686 yards and his then school record 28 touchdowns.
