The fire power in the running game was too critical for the 2005 Longview Lobos. Seniors Vondrell McGee and Chris Ivory led the way, while youngsters Jazmon Moon and Mark Johnson backed up those two. Up front, 05 was full of grimaces, starting with Trent Williams. This group lost in the first round in a shocking poor performance by the offense, but real recognize real, and this is where they fit.
While Haynes' Senior year wasn't special, he had a special back in Kaden Meredith. Even a non special Haynes gives you decent production in the pass game throwing it to Kyas Moore, Kaden Kearbey and a then freshman Jalen Hale. Up front wasn't the best year, but Kaden Meredith was in prime shape. Meredith rallied off several 200 yard performance, even going for 385 against Mesquite Horn.
What an incredible run game this group flexed. One of the best offensive lines in school history, this group was heavy from tackle to tackle, as well as athletic. Michael Ross provided steady play from the QB position, as running backs Tylan Miller, D'Crayvan Polk and Braylynn Anthony who emerged as a star, zoomed by and through people. Out wide Jon Sorey and Chris Braggs provided splash plays, but the gem of this group was the tight ends. Jordan Wyatt, Jacorian Jones and Landon Peeler provided great things from the run game as well as the pass game this year.
An incredibly balanced offense, 2013 could do it in a multitude of ways. At QB, JR. Dez Chumley had several options to throw the ball to, starting with Texas Signee Dorian Leonard at WR. Jordan Whitaker at TE provided great skill and caught 8 tds. Out wide Stephon Anthony and Buddy Pellum added to the mix. At running back, future pro JaMycal Hasty led the way.
The number 5 offense is 2004. With an All-Pro running back at fullback, a Texas signee at running back, a 2nd round draft pick at Wide Receiver, and a 4x all pro at left tackle, this group has every reason to feel like number 1. The talent was great, but the scheme in 04 didn't allow this group to achieve balance like the groups before them.
The number 4 offense is the 2008 version of the Longview Lobos, spearheaded by the most dynamic Quarterback in Longview history in Aaron Johnson. The Triplets of Johnson, Tyler McCray and Carey Fortson made plays all season long, especially in the playoffs were the moments were the brightest. 2008's offensive line was led by Senior guard Vinny Portley and Junior Bryce Redman.
The number 3 offense is a special one. A 2 QB system with do everything Aaron Johnson, followed by a 5 headed monster at running back in Tyler McCray, Johnson, Da'Cedric Hunt, Dakota Anthony and Keylon Shaw. Out wide Carey Fortson and Pete Robertson and Aaron Johnson held it down, and the 2009 offensive line, spearheaded by Bryce Redman was a formidable and tough group.
The number 2 offense in Longview belongs to 2022. With 3 year starter Jordan Allen in prime form, this group achieved balanced that struck from game 1 of the season. Taylor Tatum and Aalijah Johnson formed one of the best running back duos in school history. Taylor's 33 total touchdowns is a school record. Jalen Hale, the school's best receiver ever, lined up at wide and abused single coverage all year long. The offensive line was filled with undersized tough competitive kids who rose to the challenge each week.
The Best Longview offense ever in school history only makes sense that they also have the only state championship since integration as well. This offense could do no wrong. They converted 3rd downs at a stupendous 66.7% ratio. Haynes threw 4 interceptions all year long. Jessie went over a 1,000 yards. Keilyn went over a 1,000 yards. Kamden went for 1800 plus. Kaden Kearbey had over 700 yards. This offense was full of skill and a close knit group of linemen that gave their all.
