Spence and Co. Presents The Top 10 2025 East Texas Preseason Receivers

As the game evolved, so have the receivers that play the position. East Texas is full of long bodied, big play targets mixed in with absolute speedsters that can catch and get ghost. Check out the best ten returning receivers for East Texas.

In 2024, LeMarion Coleman made his Top 100 debut as a junior after making big plays finishing the season with 44 catches 544 yards and 4 TDS and adding 237 rushing yards on his overall totals as well. Coleman is competitive when the ball is in the air and goes and grabs it. He can break tackles after the catch due to his strong body and is bound for a big year.

As the team's number 3 receiver, Shavante Montgomery caught 29 passes for 560 yards and 7 touchdowns. Montgomery is a speedster and routinely tore up 1v1 competition all year long for Texas High. He can run with the best of them, and with number 1 target from last year Kam Wrightner moving to QB the door's wide open for him to take over as the top dog out wide.

A true speedster, Jathen Johnson has the benefit of having one of the best QBs from East Texas throwing him the football. Johnson is routinely faster than his opponents and it makes for easy pickings to throw over the top of them. He has great hand eye coordination and can make smooth looking catches. Johnson went for 51 catches for 937 yards and 14 touchdowns and will be looking to go for more his senior season.

Reign Wallace made a helluva debut his sophomore season, slashing for 43 catches for 947 yards and 11 touchdowns. Wallace is another burner that is a threat to score it every time he touches it. Last season Reign popped in on the list at #42, but it'll be a challenge to repeat that success without Chase Johnson. The QB situation is unknown to me anyway, and it'll be tough to put up big numbers without a solid qb.

Henderson definitely has the best supporting pieces around him to ensure he'll be seeing one on one coverage for the majority of the year. Having 2 of the better running backs in East Texas, along with the veteran savvy presence of his quarterback, Junior is going to win a lot of opportunities this fall. Last season, Henderson finished with 64 catches for 1,085 yards and 18 touchdowns last season. I expect him to produce close to the same thing this year in 2025.

Longview sophomore Jaden Hurndon spent half of the season on the freshman level, before getting the move up to play against Forney in 2024. Right away you could tell why. Hurndon is a strong body with good hands and better rac ability. He's physically different, and that's why he has been bombarded with offers from major universities after his freshman season after a  Longview, looking for an offensive identity for 2025, will have a very good weapon to lean on early in Jaden Hurndon.

Trey Haralson is a dude. Last season, Haralson made my top 100 at number 47. At 6'2 180 Haralson looks to be one of the best prospects at receiver the Lions have suited out in at least a decade. Haralson plays much bigger than his 6'2 suggests. He can go in a crowd and come down with the ball, he can walk away from the entire defense, and he's successful in quick game because he's so tough to bring down. Last season he caught 32 passes for 682 yards and 12 touchdowns, and I expect all of those numbers to jump.

LaKeyleon Graves has the potential to be the biggest difference maker on this list. Last season he balled out to the numbers of 48 catches 937 yards and 14 touchdowns while delivering 136 tackles and 3 interceptions on defense. Graves, the best 2 way player returning in the area, has a great relationship with established starter Kayson Brooks, and with Towns and Sanders gone this year, number 4 will be the first option in the passing game all year.

Reed Carnathan is one of the most exciting tight end prospects from East Texas in a long time. At 6'4 195 pounds, Carnathan has the frame to become a huge player, and with his natural catching ability he's one of the best players at the tight end position. Last season, Carnathan made 17 catches for 231 yards and 4 touchdowns. He's a first down every time he catches it, and for an offense that depends on the run as much as Lindale does, he ought to eat in the play action game.

With DeQuane Prevo moving to Arkansas, Camden Capehart is the clear cut best WR in East Texas. The Mississippi State commit is the fastest thing moving on the football field. He blurs his opponents on a weekly basis, and is absolute hell with the ball in his hands. Capehart caught 56 passes for 1,379 yards and 25 touchdowns, and returns QB Nolee Carroll from last season's 4th round appearance.
