Spence and Co's 2025 DB and ATH Ratings

It's between OL and DB's in who have the toughest job on Friday's. Defensive backs are constantly being challenged, and when they mess up everybody knows it. Let's look at 2025's class.

Legacy Players:

Jamarion Richardson was explosive on Offense, Defense and Special Teams for PG in 2025. He's a special athlete that takes pride in his ability to play cornerback. He's as competitive as they come, and his skill set is one to remember in East Texas.

S'Vioarean Martin is a flat out beast. He's got great size at cornerback. He's 6'2, long arms, and knows how to make a play. He did a great job returning punts, housing 2 in 2025. His 17 pbu's shows that his area is a true no fly zone.

Jakalen Sheffield is a legend in East Texas. In 2024, Sheff came down with 9 interceptions. In 2025, he made 131 tackles and had 12 pass break ups. He's a part of a secondary, 2024, that could be one of the best in East Texas history.

Incredible Years:

Kason Campbell was the man for New Boston in 2025. Campbell went crazy for 11 interceptions as a free safety, while also giving defenses that work on offense. His 2025 is one for the ages.

Jio Ibarra had an impressive tape, showing wit and savvy on his 3 interceptions. He baits QB's into believing there's an opening, then he closes on the play. He has great arm length that allows him to break up passes.

Youngster:

Jace Harris is that guy. As a defensive back he's physical. He's willing to come down hill and strike immediately. He's a smart defender, and knows how to cover (5 interceptions.) He's a weapon on offense, and when he gets it and he can score it at anytime. He'll be a fun cover for the next 2 seasons.
